Louisiana Teacher Careers
Louisiana public education remains in the control of the local school districts, most often defined by the county, or parish jurisdictions. At the state level however there are several initiatives underway to raise the quality of teaching in the state, programs that reach out to individual teachers within each district. The state may actively encourage career changers who are interested in shifting into teaching by completing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program. Practitioner Teacher Program may also be available for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject and are willing to undertake an intensive academic program while engaging in classroom teaching.
