Indiana Teacher Careers, Credentialing and Salaries

Indiana remains a mix of rural and urban communities with the old industrial area around Gary, the commercial and academic center in Indianapolis, and the numerous agricultural communities all contributing to the state's economy. The urban areas have mushroomed so that today the state, ranks eighteenth in population density with 6.5 million residents. Teaching in Indiana can take you to a hard core industrial city in the northwest of the state, a college town like Lafayette, or to the commercial and financial center in Indianapolis. All are very different municipal environments with school districts that reflect the regional traits.
